What is it and why do we need it


Our treatment center in Traverse City was meant to clean up our environment and treat sewage to be put back into our water system. Many people do not like the Septage haulers disposing of Septage on the land. For many years it was done this way and the community would like us to get away from this practice. In order to do this we must have somewhere to take it to have it treated to be reintroduced into our current system. The treatment center was built to handle this very problem. Yes there was some trouble in the beginning, and yes it has raised the cost of pumping considerably but when you average it out it really isn’t than expensive, 300 dollars every 3 years is only 100 dollars a year to dispose of your sewage, compared to the 720 you would pay yearly for city sewer.
